A Collection of Poetry, Autumn 2022

Here is a few of the poems I have made this September and October. Enjoy reading through!

GROWING, HUNTING

Mushrooms are growing in my brain,

It seems only yesterday I dreamt of flying,

But now I dream of nothing else,

Than hunting fungi in the woods.

SPORES

Spores to spawn,

Spawn from spores.

CURIOSITY

Following that familiar curiosity,

Leading me deeper into the woods.

FLOCK

Why can’t friends settle,

For a small flock?

INSIGNIFICANCE

The older I get,

The more I realise how insignificant I truly am.

HOME

A cottage on a hill,

Perhaps a treehouse or windmill,

Or an old barn or even still,

A house of my own,

It seemed a given until,

I woke up.

CLEAN

I was messy and careless,

But you didn’t let me clean up.

SHOELACES

I try to keep my shoelaces tied,

But they keep coming undone.

A POEM TO ANYONE

The leaves are browning,

Earlier every year,

The fruits are falling,

Earlier every year,

The birds are migrating,

Earlier every year.
